Our Guide to Mixing and Matching Different Jewelry Styles
Jewelry is worn for a few different reasons. It can add to an outfit, compliment an outfit or just stand out on its own. There are also lots of ways to make jewelry look its best and ways to wear it well. With tips on the perfect way to sport jewelry you probably won't look at it the same way again.
Some say that jewelry is all about personal choice. And that means that no matter what the trends are or what people say looks nice, that they will do and wear what they want. And while this is certainly true, there is a certain spark of curiosity that comes from knowing what looks good and what doesn't.
For a women walking into a jewelry store, she is often tempted by many sparkling and shinny items. In fact, everything in the entire store might look amazing. However, she might feel a sense of insecurity in not knowing what piece would be appropriate where and what outfit would compliment what. In the not knowing, the women might simply be overwhelmed and walk out.
This can also be true for anyone who has received jewelry as a gift. Sure its jewelry, but if a women doesn't really like it then she is not going to wear it. So how does a guy know what kind to buy her? How is one person's taste different from the others when it comes down to picking and wearing jewelry?
Some women like anything big when it comes to jewelry. They might like to wear big faced watches, big pendant earrings and huge pendants on the end of a necklace. These big jewelry items look nice at certain times, but not at others. An example of this could be at a funeral. That might not be the right time to sport a huge bright green pendant necklace with huge earrings. For a place that you do not want to stand out, but want to look nice, then small studs and a small chain or pendant might be appropriate.
A time and place where huge jewelry might be okay, is any evening occasion where you want to feel beautiful and want to stand out. A date with your husband or boyfriend could be great examples, or a night out with a friend. Any place where you want people to notice your jewelry is a great spot to wear the larger types.
Some women feel that wearing big pendants around the neck is appropriate with low cutting shirts. When a woman wears a shirt that is cut low, wearing a necklace with a huge pendant might draw people's eyes downward and not really even seeing the pendant. If someone wants to wear a revealing shirt, then a necklace that stays up and around the collarbone is a great look.
It is important to have a matching look when wearing jewelry. That means that wearing lots of gold's and silvers do not necessarily look nice worn at all once. If you are going to wear white gold then stick with that for the day or yellow, keep it the same and keep the look flowing.
When you are wearing jewelry it is important to wear pieces that you love but also think about how it makes your outfit look so that your jewelry can actually dress up your look.
